We have worked with a marine transit specialist to develop a series of short courses suited to those requiring some knowledge of marine transit insurance.    The courses range from the fundamentals to the advanced.

Module 1 – Goods in Transit – understanding the fundamentals

The aim of this module is to provide a basic understanding of marine transit insurance, associated documents and terminology used in the transportation of goods and insurance of goods in transit including basis of valuation and calculating limits of liability.   The module is suited to those working with the transportation of goods who require a better understanding of the insurance requirements for these goods and the policies available in the market place or those currently working within the insurance sector who require a basic understanding of the purpose of marine insurance.  

Module Fee - $150

Module 2 – Understanding the coverage 

Module 1 is a pre-requisite to Module 2

This module covers policy interpretation, traps and pitfalls of arranging or accepting the cover.

This module is suited to those who work with the transportation of goods who are charged with the responsibility of arranging insurance cover; Insurance Brokers; Insurance Underwriters; Claims staff and Surveyors.

Module 3 – Loss Settlements

Modules 1 and 2 modules are a pre-requisite to this module. This module covers the claims process and settlement of losses. This module is suited to those who work within the claims environment including claims technicians, surveyors; Insurance Brokers and those who work with the transhipment of goods who require a better understanding of loss settlements
