FNS41611 Certificate IV in Loss Adjusting
This tailored qualification course is designed to reflect the role of new entry employees working in the loss adjusting/motor assessing industry who perform duties such as:
- undertaking small to medium sized domestic property assessments
- completing desktop assessments
- analysing and validating insurance claims
- preparing reports and/or schedules of loss
- liaising with third party providers
- managing milestones
The course is a combination of written assessment tasks and practical assessment. Students are provided the opportunity to demonstrate recognition of prior learning.
This course is offered as a traineeship to both new and existing workers (who meet eligibility criteria) in some States and/or Territories.

FNS51410 Diploma of Loss Adjusting
This specialist qualification course is designed to reflect the role of experienced claims officers or loss adjusters working across the entire insurance claims and loss adjusting spectrum performing duties such as:
- Undertaking loss adjustments across a broad range of losses
- Managing complex claims
- Managing complex loss adjustments
- Managing a catastrophe or other specialist unit
- Operational/branch/area managers
The course is a combination of written assessment tasks and practical assessment. Students are provided the opportunity to demonstrate recognition of prior learning.
Students who have completed the Certificate IV in Financial Services (Insurance Assessment Services) or Certificate IV in Loss Adjusting will receive exemption from some units of competency.
Experienced loss adjusters should consider applying for recognition of prior learning.
