Certificate IV in Loss Adjusting
This tailored qualification course is designed to reflect the role of new entry employees working in the loss adjusting/motor assessing industry who perform duties such as:
- Assessing claims and establishing quantum
- Liaising with interested parties
- Completing estimates
- Attending to salvage
- Identifying and attending to recovery
- Applying fundamental skills in loss adjusting/assessing/surveying.
The course is a combination of written assessment tasks and practical assessment. Students are provided the opportunity to demonstrate recognition of prior learning.
This course is offered as a traineeship to eligible students in some States and Territories in Australia.

Diploma of Loss Adjusting
LOSS ADJUSTERS
This specialist qualification course is designed to reflect the role of experienced claims officers or loss adjusters working across the entire insurance claims and loss adjusting spectrum performing duties such as:
- Managing complex claims
- Managing complex loss adjustments
- Managing a catastrophe or other specialist unit
- Operational/branch/area managers
The course is a combination of written assessment tasks and practical assessment. Students are provided the opportunity to demonstrate recognition of prior learning.
Students who have completed the Certificate IV in Financial Services (Insurance Assessment Services) or Certificate IV in Loss Adjusting will receive exemption from some units of competency.
Experienced Loss Adjusters should consider applying for recognition of prior learning.
